In a performance that was cheered wildly by the 167,227 in attendance at Churchill Downs on Saturday, Nyguist won the 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby by 1¼ lengths.
Nyguist's win was the third time a horse wearing a FLAIR strip had won USA's most prestigious race the others being California Chrome & I"ll Have Another.
Nyguist is now undeafeated in eight starts and now heads to the Preakness in search of the Triple Crown
